Ekan at BBRT in Chicago

On April 27-29, BBRT North America organized its annual conference in Chicago, Illinois. Ekan was present with representatives Dag Larsson, CEO and Malin Wennebro, Head of Marketing and Business Development.

BBRT stands for Beyond Budgeting Round Table® and includes an independent, global network for research and exchange of shared experiences. The network was founded in 1998 by researchers Robin Fraser and Jeremy Hope, who also wrote the book Beyond Budgeting® (2003). The cohesive link in the network consists of a common desire to change their management system to better operate in today's dynamic business environment. By participating in BBRT®, Ekan not only wants to serve as a recipient of other people's experiences and the network's research, but also contribute with our knowledge and experience. As consultants, we also see it as a great asset to carry with us to the activities in which we are involved.

This year's conference contained a number of exciting case studies and inspiration within Management Innovation. Among other things, examples were given of how companies and organizations with the help of predictive analysis and forecasting models can better make proactive decisions, a need that we meet with many of our customers today. In addition, there was talk of the necessity of agile organizations and of the increasingly important role of the Controller organization in supporting management with both business strategic decisions and implementation. This development is in good agreement with what we identify as a challenge for our customers and to which we contribute, among other things, through competence development efforts.
